Wednesday is my new project update day! Why you might ask, or maybe not, maybe the thought didn’t even cross your mind. Anyways, like I mentioned on Monday, I want to start having a regular post routine and maybe it will help me keep myself accountable for the projects I’m working. I’m a procrastinating slacker.
On Saturday I finished up a section of the
scarf I’m working on. I feel like it’s taking forever and it is because it’s such a tiny knit. I did a rough draft on what I needed to do to get done, just 300 more rows to go! I hit row 400 on Saturday. I don’t want to knit my joints out so I’ve planned on 10 rows a day M-F. If I end up doing more than woohoo, if not then at least I’m staying on track to finish by the beginning of September. No new knit or crochet projects until then though.
For my battling chaos project I’ve been slowly making progress. I’m going to stick to minimizing the areas I’m working on. Later I’ll worry about making it look nice. I was too caught up on the decoration part and it was stressing me out.
My entry way is sort of embarrassing.

The following pictures are not the greatest but they do a good job showing what intricate means to me. There is something chaotic about the back of my Sounders blanket but when you flip it to the right side, a nice picture will be shown. To me, Intarsia knitting is incredibly intricate and the process of creating your design can be chaotic.
In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Intricate.” What does the word “intricate” mean to you?
Battling Chaos of the home!
For my first blog post, I talked about setting goals for 2015. I’m working on my reading and you’ve seen a few book reviews since then but very little on productivity, with the exception of prepping meals early so I don’t eat fast food. As for productivity, I’ve always had too much stuff for the space I live in. You might ask how this relates to productivity. Well, all this stuff gets scattered and left out and all together chaotic. I walk into my home and get stressed because of all the mess and clutter. I know that not being lazy and just cleaning up would help but I’m thinking I need to be a little more drastic with this first go around. And by drastic I’m thinking minimalist, which I know nothing about but I’m willing to give it a try.
Now I’m not one to dive right in without doing my research so I picked up The Joy of Less: A Minimalist Living Guide : How to Declutter, Organize, and Simplify your Life The Power of Less : the Fine Art of Limiting Yourself to the Essential — in Business and in Life from the library. I don’t generally read self help type books but I figured this one would be worth a read since I need to start somewhere and get in the right mind set. I’m thinking this blog post subject is going to be a 3 part, so look for more to come. Wish me luck!
